Congrats on saying Yes to Jesus!

We know you've probably got a million questions racing through your brain. But the biggest is probably, "where do I start? and what do I need to know?" Below you'll find a couple of things that we think will super helpful.

The Bible

Hearing from and learning about God

The bible is not just a story-book, it’s the literal word of God, it’s a life manual, it’s truth, it’s a massive picture of God’s love for us. This is the way that we learn more about God and His promises for us. You can find out more about it by checking out this video below, or you can jump right in with a couple of our suggested starting points. It's up to you.

Here’s a couple of verses that are good to start with. If you’re not sure how to find one of these, just use the contents page at the front like you would with a normal book:

o   1 Peter 1:3

o   Ecclesiastes 3:11

o   Romans 1:16

o   Jeremiah 31:3

o   John 3:16

o   1 John 3:16

o   Philippians 4:4-9

o   Psalm 139

o   Psalm 24:7

o   Matthew 22:37-38

o   Mark 16:15

o   Ephesians 3:18

o   1 Corinthians 13

Talking with God

Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. Just like you would do with your friends, the more you spend time with your friends, the more you get to know each other. In the same way, we can actually talk with God. As we get to know God better, we get to know His heart better. Often in prayer, we can gain perspective, experience His peace when going through difficult situations and can and express how we are going on the inside. Don't

Here’s some tips on how to start:

o   Be real with God.

In the book of Psalms, David was very honest with God. When he was on top of the world or when everything seemed to be going wrong, when he felt upset towards God, and when he was praising God…David was real. You can be real too. Don’t feel like you have to be perfect

o   Thank God for the things you are grateful for

o   Tell God how much you love Him

o   Thank God for his forgiveness for things that we may have done or said

o   Ask God for what you need

o   Ask God to help friends and family

Remember it's a conversation, so there is listening involved too

Praise and Worship

This is exactly like the music you here on a Friday night. Some of it is fast and pumping, others are soft and slow. Both are important though. Both listening and singing worship music helps us to think and focus on God. We encourage you to listen to these wherever you are and when you feel comfortable, to sing along.

Here’s some great songs to start with:
